As a Japanese, I think Japanese is a rich language. This is because of the absorption of kanji and the other foreign languages and the efforts of the the predecessors in Meiji era.

I also think Japanese is a beautiful language. This is because cultures such as words, figurative expressions, and poetry, which were born against the background of rich seasons and nature, grew up in the long history. Especially, Haiku is an art to be considered by omitting words.

On the other hand, if Japanese is logical, the vocabulary that expresses phenomena in the universe. It is enough as a scientific expression. However, it seems to be a very vague language culture if it is not conscious of it.

For example, the information “who” and “how many” “whether completed or not” are not added to “bought watch last year.(japanese).” It’s easy to understand without saying it, but scientifically you have to say ” l have bought a watch yesterday.” Otherwise English native seem wondering. awkward, it doesn’t work in the global age.

That’s why I’m trying to learn English grammar again. However, l can not get out of the tunnel of Japanese thinking that was soaked.

I heard that the masterpiece YUKIGUNI -The train came out of the long tunnel into the snow country.-generaly had to be translated like ” when the train I was on exited the tunnel, it was a region where snow was piled up.”

Should the new Japanese language be scientific or literary? I would like to improve my ability to express in English, but I can’t throw away a culture considering”OMOIYARU”.
